This drink has been with me thru it all: morning sickness, illness, etc… My kids all know my Trim Healthy Mama (THM) Good Girl Moonshine (GGMS) well and even my husband requests it now! If I had to choose just one drink besides water, it would honestly be this one because it does so much for me.
When I first started my Trim Healthy Mama journey many a year ago, this drink was one of the things that got me hooked. It’s so simple with 5 ingredients. Even when I was trying other healthy eating strategies, this drink never left my side. My children have grown up with it.
This is the original recipe that I used here on the Trim Health Mama You Tube channel. There are so many variations, but when I find something I like, I’m pretty loyal. Check out the printable below.

Would adding cherries make this an E meal?
Well, let me explain! I add 3 or 4 frozen cherries, which if you decide to eat them would still not make this an E meal, in my opinion, because I only add a few. However, I mostly just add them for the flavor, so I often don’t eat them. If you want a lot of cherries, say more than 8 or 9, then make this an E drink to accompany a light E meal.

The Recipe
First, I start by getting one of my 24-32 ounce cups and I fill with ice about 2/3 of the way full and then I add 3-4 frozen cherries (and sometimes 3-4 frozen strawberries.)
Next, I add 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar (ACV) (with the mother and shaken). This is good for your skin, blood sugar, lowering blood pressure, and soooo much more. It’s worth a search.
Then, I stir in two doonks of stevia and 1/2 – 1 tsp of dried ginger (or fresh or liquid). This is excellent for nausea whether is morning sickness, motion sickness, or a stomach bug.
After that, I like to squeeze 1/2 of small – medium lime into the cup.
Optional: Sometimes I’ll add a few drops of cherry extract to intensify the cherry flavor.

Finally, stir and enjoy!
Substitutions
Strawberry Lemonade: Some of my children prefer the drink made with lemon instead and frozen strawberries.
Honey: Also, for my children, I will sometimes add a little honey instead of the stevia for sweetening. Honey is so good for upset tummies as well. I just make sure to mix it with a little water in cup before adding the ice.
Tips
Milk Frother: I really like using a handheld milk frother to blend my dried ginger and stevia in if it doesn’t dissolve when stirring.
Dilution: It’s sweet and spicy kick really helped me quit soda, but if you prefer it more mild, just add more water. If you like it stronger, use less.
