If you haven’t figured out yet how much my family likes Cherries, you will soon with this cherry vanilla kefir smoothie.
The combination of sweet, tart cherries and vanilla is one of our favorites making this smoothie a no-brainer for my family and one of my most requested.
WHY KEFIR?
Kefir has so many wonderful benefits for your body including improved digestion, blood sugar, and allergies.

INGREDIENTS
- Milk Kefir – I use 1 cup of 2% milk (fat-free and 1% work here also as a FP). More than 2% would be an S setting. I ferment mine about 24 hours. Though if it went longer, I still use it and adjust the sweetener to my tastebuds.
- frozen cherries – I like the big bag from Costco, but any works!
- sweetener of choice – I use Trim Healthy Mama Super Sweet and stevia for this cherry vanilla smoothie. I usually will use stevia and honey for my children.
- Vanilla Extract
- Cherry Extract – This heightens the cherry flavor, especially if you are using less cherries to stay in a fuel pull setting.
RECIPE
Honestly, it’s pretty simple to make this cherry vanilla kefir smoothie. To the blender I add:
- 1 cup of milk kefir
- 1/2 c or less of frozen cherries for FP, more for an E setting.
- 2 doonks stevia
- 2 tsp super sweet (or more to taste) or generous drizzle (tbsp) of honey for kids
- splash (1/2 tsp) of vanilla extract
- dash (2-3 drops) of cherry extract
- 1 c of ice
Mix ingredients well and enjoy.
