For Kaety’s last year of high school, these are the homeschool curriculum choices/ activities we have chosen.
Curriculum Choices
Since I combine a lot of subjects for my children, Kaety started her high school English credits in 8th grade. Also, she is intent on gaining a degree in graphic design so when we designed her transcript, we tailored it to meet her needs. I like to give my children ample time to get to know themselves and further investigate their interests in high school. She had already completed her science, history, and english credits prior to her senior year.
Morning Time
We do morning time together as a family as many days of the week as possible. Kaety is a senior and can get busy with work, so we are flexible when she isn’t able to join us.
Math

We are using Math-u-see Algebra II for her senior year. In our homeschool, this is our favorite choice for high school math. She uses all the components: Textbook, DVD, worksheets, and tests. Here is a link if you’re if you want to check it out.

Government / Economics
We utilize Exploring Government and Exploring Economics by Ray Notgrass. Here is a link if you want to check out these homeschool high school resources.
For the government book, which we completed in the fall, we utilized the tests and review pages. My daughter also completed many of the projects in order to get a government credit.

She started the high school economics course at the beginning of the spring semester and we decided to focus more on the projects and add replace the tests with note booking. As a homeschool mom I like to implement note booking whenever possible because I just feel its a better way to retain information.
Japanese II

For high school Japanese, my daughter is using a variety of items including:
- this book Japanese from Zero! 1
- Duolingo
- watching Anime
- practicing with others
- note booking what she’s learning.
We keep track of the hours using the planning guide in order to receive credit. (More about the planning guide below).
Finance

We have our high schoolers earn a half credit in finance utilizing different books, games, and having great discussions. They also prepare budgets and plan for their future. Here are some of the resources we use in our homeschool:
- An audiobook by Chip Gaines that my family adores called Capital Gaines (not shown)
- Dave Ramsey’s Complete Guide to Money
- Your Money Counts by Howard Dayton
- CashFlow Game
Theatre
My daughter likes to participate in homeschool theatre groups for high school kids whenever possible. What an amazing opportunity! She will have a lead in the spring musical so she is very excited to have freed up some time for this semester.
High School Dual Enrollment
Kaety was able to dual enroll with a nearby university for her spring semester that had dual enrollment classes for high schoolers. She took a couple of animation classes in the fall and really enjoyed it.
Homeschool High School Planning Guide
My teens all get planning guides likes this one. Sometimes I make them myself, sometimes I utilize an excel version I bought here from A Farmhouse Full. I like hers because she utilizes Excel and they are able to auto fill certain category labels. Some parts I will fill in a semester or quarter at a time with our homeschool curriculum choices and others they fill in as they go.

I also encourage my kids to begin their own routines in high school as jobs and activities can begin to complicate homeschool schedules. Here is a link for how to create a morning routine and an evening routine that I encourage my children to follow in an effort to further encourage independance.
A Brief Reflection (She is a Senior after all)

At the end of the day, this is her last year of homeschool. How do I soak all of it in? You’d think since this was my third that will be graduating I wouldn’t still be fighting back tears. However, she is a smart and responsible girl whose love for others is incredible. All I can say is I do not regret homeschooling and I am grateful for all the memories I can carry with me!
